PLEASE BROADCAST
State Representative Scott Suder (R-Abbotsford) has introduced at the state Assembly a bill, LRB-2259/1, to make premises registration voluntary in Wisconsin. The bill needs more co-sponsors immediately and your support as it goes through the Assembly
ACTION: Please print copies of WICFA’s “LRB 2259/1, Voluntary Livestock Premises Registration” lobbying packet and take them by your Amish neighbors so they can write their own letters to their assembly people in Madison.
Find their representatives for them: http://www.legis.wisconsin.gov/w3asp/waml/waml.aspx
1. Print all materials in this packet so that your neighbors, especially the Amish, can read it all for their selves and be fully informed about this opportunity to make mandatory premise registration voluntary.
2. Use the link above to find out who their assembly people are and make a note of their name and mailing address in Madison so your Amish neighbors can send their own letters in to speak out against mandatory premise registration for themselves.
3. Please remember that this should be done as soon as possible, the deadline for co-sponsoring this bill is Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at which point it will be assigned to either committee or a sub-committee if it gets enough co-sponsors.
4. Contact your assembly representative via fax about your request for his or her sponsorship of "LRB 2259/1, Voluntary Livestock Premises Registration" complete with a cover page that references the exact number and name of the bill. Faxes and/or letters sent in this manner (with the cover letter) must be added to the official record; phone calls and emails are simply not reflected in the official record.
NOTE: After the bill gets co-sponsors, it goes to a subcommittee or committee. We need to call committee members as soon as it is assigned.
